Born and raised in Plymouth, MA I consider myself blessed. I had an upbringing that most would see as quintessential New England; growing up with two amazing parents who loved each other as much as they loved us. We spent the warm months camping, fishing, playing sports and of course plenty of family cookouts. The colder months included ice skating on the rinks my dad built in our yard, sledding down the biggest hills we could find or just playing outside in the snow. There was always something fun to look forward to and life was so simple.
Life may not be as simple today but it is equally fulfilling, although it was quite the journey getting here ...
After receiving my Bachelor's in Business Administration from Eastern Nazarene College and spending most of my 20's climbing the corporate ladder, I quickly realized what I would NOT be doing in my 30's and beyond:) Although I had a huge passion for business I was miserable pushing paper all day and knew I needed to somehow incorporate my love of art and design into my everyday life.
It seems that every designer I've ever spoken to or read about talks about how they started decorating their rooms as kids, its almost cliché at this point. However, truth be told, it does seem to run in our blood:) I feel I took that a step further by redecorating my room every couple of weeks or so :) And I mean everything from the layout and colors to the posters on the wall! I would regularly go around the house and steal curtains and flooring from other rooms. I was that kid constantly being grounded in my bedroom for doing something stupid and would literally blow my parents mind at what I could accomplish while left by myself :) Besides, form and function is important to ALL five year old's, right?
My first move towards my passion was to start an interior decorating firm specializing in custom murals and faux finishing. Over the years that grew into whole house renovations & remodels. I loved every minute of it, however, after nearly ten years I knew I needed to dig in even further and pursue my absolute love of architecture. I returned to school, earning my Master's in Interior Architecture from Suffolk University. As challenging as that decision was to make, I knew Day 1 sitting in my very first class that I was EXACTLY where I was meant to be.
Over the last nearly ten years i've had the opportunity to work on projects ranging from hotels, colleges and K-12 schools just to name a few. As amazing as that experience has been nothing excites me more than working directly with families in creating their own personal spaces that inspire them to connect and grow together. Every client has their own dreams for their home and I am beyond appreciative to be able to share that journey in creating it with them.
